COMPETITION: KNOWLEDGE ABOUT NATURAL FOREST USE AND MANAGEMENT

In August 2014, Environmentally friendly forest use club in Xa Nghin I village (Quang Nam, 23/8/2014) and in Khe Tran village (30/08/2014) organized knowledge competition about natural forest use and management. The competition attracted more than 300 participants from different backgrounds. Through the competiton, club members and local people in the 2 communes had the opportunity to test their knowledge and learn more about forest protection, forestry, or their rights and responsibilities… The highlight of the competition was that it created a chance for local people to exchange ideas, relax and bring a lot of laughter to the community.

In October 2013, the C&E Center in coordination with the Thua Thien Hue Science and Technology Association of Forestry and Forest Protection Department of Quang Nam organized 02 diaglogues on Operation Regulations of the Board of Community Forest Managers (CFM) and Club; Regulation of community forest management and development for the 02 members of the environmentally friendly forest use club in 2 provinces.

STUDY TOUR ON SUSTAINABLE NATURAL FOREST MANAGEMENT AND PROTECTION BASED ON THE PEOPLE’S RIGHTS IN TT-HUE & QUANG NAM

In July, in the framework of the project “Sustainable management of natural forest through raising awareness and building capacity to improve the rights and legal status of ethnic minority communities to natural forest in central Vietnam – 2013” funded Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung (RLS), the C&E center, in association with the Forestry Science and Technology Association in Thua Thien Hue Province and the Forest Protection Department of Quang Nam, has organized two study tours for members of the environmentally friendly forest use Club in Xa Nghin I village and the Community Forests Management Board in Khe Tran in Thua Thien Hue
