In June, 2014, in Khe Tran village (Hue) and Xa Nghin I village (Quang Nam), there were trainings to raise awareness and build capacity through the participation of local people in community forest management, protection and development. The trainings courses had the participation of 2 environmentally friendly forest use clubs in Khe Trang and Xa Nghin I villages along with village and commune officers.

In July, 2014, the project “Sustainable management of natural forest through raising awareness and building capacity to improve the rights and legal status of ethnic minority communities to natural forest in central Vietnam (2012-2014)” organized a traning course on raising awareness and building capacity in land and forest allocation through participation of the local community in Areh village (July 15th, 16th) and Khe Tran village (July 19th, 20th). The project is conducted by Center for Development of Community Initiative and Environment (C&E) and sponsored by Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung Southeast Asia.

A TRIPOD IN COMMUNITY FOREST MANAGEMENT

Effective community forest management requires a coordination mechanism amongst stakeholders including environmentally friendly forest use clubs and local authorities in communes and districts. This is one of the messages shared during the dialogue about coordination mechanisms amongst stakeholders in sustainable forest use and management in Khe Tran village (Thua Thien Hue) and Xa Nghin I village (Quang Nam) during August, 2014.
