In June and early July, the Center for Development of Community Initiative and Environment (C&E) in collaboration with local partner organized two training courses for environmentally friendly forest use clubs in Quang Nam and Thua Thien Hue.

On Nov.15, 2013, Center for Development of Community Initiative and Environment (C&E) in association with local partners organized the workshop “Status and solutions to support the forest and land allocation process in Quang Nam and Thua Thien Hue” in Tam Ky city

Community forests exists as part of local traditions, linking people’s interests with the community’s spiritual and religious beliefs and playing a vital role in the life and culture of ethnic minorities. To promote interests of the community and their role in the sustainability of natural forest, the Government of Vietnam has been allocating forests to the community for long-term management and use since the 1990s

Hue City, 23 November 2012- The Center for Development of Community Initiative and Environment (C&E) in association with local partners hosted a workshop “Solutions to support ethnic minority communities in utilizing rights and responsibilities in natural forest management in Thua Thien Hue and Quang Nam.”

C&E Center has cooperated with local partners in implementing the “Assessment of the current local situation: social economic conditions, public awareness of their rights and legal status in the management and use of forest, policies on community forest management, and their participation in land and forest allocation process, forest-based livelihoods in Thua Thien Hue and Quang Nam, from March to June 2012.

C&E Center with local partners organised a series of training workshop on raising awareness and building capacity in improving the use of community’s rights and responsibilities towards sustainable management of natural forests for local communities and authorities in 4 communes of project sites in TT-Hue and Quang Nam provinces, August 2012.

Last October and November, the Center for Development of Community Initiative and Environment (C&E) in collaboration with local partners held two workshops on “Community-based forest management capacity building: Current Situation and Challenges” in Hue City and Tam Ky City.
