60 people of two villages participated in the training. Students are equipped with the basic knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and traditional rules of land and forest management; the procedures of forest and land allocation; basic conditions for the community to receive land and forest. Moreover, participants were also introduced to the practical experience to promote their rights and responsibilities in the management, protection and utilization of allocated forests and forest land as well as guided in building the club’s regulations, planning, and organizing club/CFM unit’s activities and teamwork skills.

The training achieved expected results and objectives, all participants clearly understood the knowledge and skills learned in the course. The group discussions were not only the exercises for participants to practice but also the actual essential activities of the community forest management and protection to discuss and find solutions.

After the training courses, the local people’s awareness and knowledge have changed significantly and remarkably from being "unknown" to "know more" about their rights, obligations and responsibilities after allocated land and forest by the government. Simultaneously, they aware that in order to promote the rights, they have to change their perceptions and behaviors, beginning with the small steps like team-working, meeting, discussing, and working with plan as well as all having specific plan for a particular content, and must change their way of thinking from "traditionally and passively waiting” to “actively looking up”.
