Case Study: Implementing REZCET Teaching at Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry (HUAF) From Pilot Training to Developing Student Capacity
Within the project “Capacity building for community-based forest management in Thua Thien-Hue and Quang Nam: A people rights-based approach” funded by Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung Institute in Vietnam, the Center for Development of Community Initiative and Environment (C&E) in cooperation with Thua Thien-Hue Nature Care and Quang Nam Forest Protection Department assembled a team of experts with expertise and practical experience in community-based natural resource management to compile a set of training materials “Capacity building for community-based forest management for communities in two provinces of Thua Thien-Hue and Quang Nam: the rights-based approach”.

Protecting existing natural forest areas in Vietnam is a big task that requires much effort from forestry and other relevant organizations. Although there are many policies and institutions for this purpose, natural forests have been destroyed rapidly. It is clear that the efforts of the state management bodies are not enough. It is important that local people should participate in and contribute to natural forest protection.
