For TOT training in Da nang

Project “Integrating and advocating for Social-Ecological Transformation (SET) in Vietnam’s tertiary education 2021 – 2023”

BACKGROUND

Center for Development of Community Initiative and Environment (C&E) is a Vietnamese not-for-profit organization established in 2008. C&E works to promote participation and improve the capacity of local community groups and organizations for better solutions to environmental issues that are related to their life, contributing to the development of civil society and a sustainable environment in Vietnam.

The project Integrating and advocating for Social-Ecological Transformation (SET) in Vietnam’s tertiary education will be conducted by C&E with the sponsorship of RLS SEA, aims to encourage and facilitate students’ access to new knowledge and open the potentials for the application of social-ecology theory and practice in everyday life and career. In addition, the project will particularly target university students and lecturers’ integration of Social-Ecological Transformation into their personal and professional life, in light of prevailing challenges arising due to climate change. The intended major approach to realize this goal is education, awareness-raising, professional development and practices as well as practical interventions for SET, specifically training courses for Vietnamese students including lecturers and young leaders to equip them with knowledge and skills in combating climate change and social-ecological crisis, toward the emerging social-ecological movement in Vietnam. The project is expected to enhance target participants’ motivation for practicing social-ecological sustainability and taking initiatives and share their lived experience of youth practitioners in undertaking social-ecological projects.

The aims of the project are as follows:

Overall objective: The objective is not only about SET integration in the education sector but also to promote ecological lifestyle and movement among Vietnamese youth (students and young lecturers at university).

Project objectives

SET approach will be further documented, exchanged scientifically among university lecturers, policy makers, and practitioners at national level by 2023

SET module will be piloted and integrated in the curriculum of Vietnam universities / colleges by 2023.

SET network will be further expanded and maintained at national and international level by 2023

As a part of the project, one intensive training course is expected to take place in Da Nangfor four (04) days around week 2 of September, 2021 consisting of two days indoors providing participants with knowledge of social and ecological issues and approaches to integration of the topics into their own teaching and two days outdoor using experiential learning to offer hands-on experience. The whole training course is also expected to be the simulations of novel pedagogical methods through a variety of learning activities

C&E is now requesting interested participate to submit quotations for organizing services of the TOT training in Danang city. 

SERVICE EXPECTATION

Training course: 4 days include 2 days indoor training and 2 days 2 days field trip at Cu Lao Cham island

Daily schedule time: morning 8:00-12:00am, afternoon 1:30-5:00pm

Location: Da Nang and Cu Lao Cham Island

Quantity of participants: 38 participants  (includes 30 trainees, trainers and organizers)

Based on above information of the TOT, please provide the detailed service for either one or both of following activities: 

• Organize service for 2 days indoor training

Meeting room services: The meeting room should large for have a space for group activities, preferably have natural light, windows and  water during the meeting. The room should preferably have a flip chart, a multimedia projector and screen, microphones, etc. Ensure that all equipment is functional and installed prior to the start of the event. A technician should be available in case of any problems.

Important: Your offer must specify what technical equipment, furniture and services are included in the meeting room rental cost. Also, please provide a full price list of additional equipment and services with your offer.

Hotel accommodation

C&E expects 3 star qualified hotels or equivalent to make a firm offer for the provision of hotel accommodation services related to the above events. Please quotation detail price for standard Single room/ double room, including breakfast and free wi-fi 

Important note: If your hotel is not able to provide the full capacity of this requirement, please let us know the maximum amount of rooms your hotel will be able to allocate

 Event manager

The hotel or training place should nominate an Event manager as focal point to work with C&E before, during and after the event and to give C&E support in all matters concerning the management of this event. The name of the contact person must be stated in the response. The person must be available, if needed, and during the event.

• Field trip tour service for 2 days outdoor training

The outdoor training will allow participants to experience the ecological lifestyle and share practical activities for the teachers. Therefore, C&E expects a travel agency that has experience in organizing events related to the ecological lifestyle to create a fieldtrip activity Cu Lao Cham Island that matches with our training objective and timeline. C&E expect a full combo service for 2 days including:

• Transportation from hotel to Cu Lao Cham (car and boat) and insurance,
• Entrance ticket (if any), 
• Venue and equipment
•  Catering for lunch and dinner, 
• Accommodation,
• Goods and service for practical activities 
• and guide service.

Event manager

The agency should nominate an Event manager as focal point to work with C&E before, during and after the event and to give C&E support in all matters concerning the management of this event. The name of the contact person must be stated in the response. The person must be available, if needed, and during the event.

CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION

C&E will evaluate and assess the submissions of the offers upon a set of criteria. These include:

• Service fee and payment method
• Proven capacity to carry out the requested services
• Evidence based experiences in the provision of such services 
• Experience in cooperating with NGOs in providing similar service is an advantage

SUBMISSION

A competitive supplier will be offered to provide service  based on their qualifications  and experiences. C&E would like to invite interested suppliers to submit the following:

• Company profile, a copy of business license (a scanned file and/ or a certified copy)
• Detailed quotation as in Annex 1 
• Sample or references of past similar work (limited to two)
