The Contest summary and prize award ceremony was held at NEU Conference Hall in Ha Noi from 8:30- 11:00 on 4 June 2012. Participants included authors of entries who came from
Hanoi National University of Education, representatives of media agencies and a large number of students from NEU, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, University of Civil Engineering and others.
Speaking at the ceremony, Professor Dr. Tran Tho Dat, NEU Vice Rector and Ms. Bui Thi Thanh Thuy, C&E highly appreciated young people who showed concern about issues of sustainable development through their engagement in various initiatives around the world. They have been active and vocal at international conferences, and have taken leadership roles in a wide range of movements and activities as well as sought for ways of sustainable consumption and production. These actions are examples to others in the community and send messages to businesses and governments. Most importantly, they pave the way for adopting a healthier, happier and less consumer-based sustainable lifestyle.
Art performances by NEU students and C&E volunteers and continuous interaction between the MC and the students through games and performances created an exciting atmosphere for the ceremony. Student participants took part enthusiastically in the game “guessing song names from their musical tunes”. All the songs had themes related to the environment and the youth, sending messages for a green planet and a sustainable future. The focal point of the ceremony was the rap song "Fateful picture" by Vu Anh Khoi and Vu Anh Vu, the contest winning product for song entries.
Although only a few works were awarded but all contest entries came from Vietnamese youth’s passions, enthusiasms, desires and actions to change the future in a more positive direction. And, as stated by representatives of authors, all contest participants were winners who would continue to act and follow the paths they wanted and chose.
