C&E representative takes part in the digital delegation towards the COP26
🌿At the 26th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP26), representatives of C&E and partners of the Rosa-Luxemburg Stiftung will take part in the delegation to participate in digital programs under the framework of COP26 in the next 5 months. A series of presentations, discussions and collaborative groups working on key issues of climate justice, along with a number of advocacy and technical issues.
🌿The aim of the program series is to optimize learning opportunities for inter-regional exchange between Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung Institute partners from civil institutions, social movements, academia and other parties.
🌿During the working session of August 2021, the group discussed the contents of the new report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which has just released a climate warning. These include the current climate conditions; Future climate issues; Climatic information for risk assessment and regional adaptation; 🌿Limiting future climate change. The evidence is clear that greenhouse gas emissions are propelling us toward a fiery future fraught with extreme climate change. Only urgent reductions in fossil fuel emissions could be the solution.
🌿The United Nations Climate Change Summit (COP26) to take place in November 2021 in Glasgow in Scotland, UK, is considered the most important since the Climate Change Summit in Paris. 2015 (COP 21). COP26 will be the deadline for nearly 200 countries around the world to make new commitments to reduce emissions under the Paris Agreement on climate change.
