  Event: The Future We Want- Messages from Vietnamese Youth to Rio +20

 Are you a young person longing to assert yourself?

Are you a Vietnamese youth with whole-hearted love of our country?

And are you a citizen wanting to change life in a more positive way?

Whether you, young people, simply love this beautiful Vietnam or brim with enthusiasm and longing to dedicate for it, you are the future, the image and the voice of the Vietnamese. You might ask if there are opportunities to express your dreams, opinions and thoughts of your nation and your world in the future. Rio +20 will help you do it.

Rio +20, the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in June 2012. This will be a historic opportunity the Vietnamese Youth in particular and the global youth in general to raise voices in and wishes for the global future development. As part of activities towards Rio + 20 in Vietnam and with support from project "Strengthening capacities to integrate sustainable development and climate change in planning in Vietnam", a cooperation endeavour between the Department of Science,  Education and Natural Resources under Ministry of Planning and Investment (DSENRE- MPI) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Center for Development of Community Initiative and Environment (C&E) and Urban Environment Department, National Economics University jointly organise an event “The Future We Want – Messages of Vietnam Youth to Rio+20” from 25 April 2012 to 4 June 2012.

The organisers hope that the event will offer opportunities for Vietnamese youth to express ideas and visions and demonstrate creativity. Besides, in joining the event, you can receive valuable prizes, exchange with and learn from hundreds of students from universities in Hanoi. Especially, if you are the winners, your products will be sent to Rio+20 to represent voices of young people worldwide. The event consists of three main parts:

1. A discussion on Rio + 20 and a contest launch

Time: 8:00- 11:00 on 25 April 2012

Location: Conference Hall of National Economics University, Ha Noi

2. “The future we want” Contest

Time: 25 April 2012 to 27 May 2012

3. Contest summary and prize award ceremony

Time: 8:00 -11:00 on 04 June 2012

Location: Conference Hall of National Economics University, Hanoi
